Nashwa Al Ruwaini Highlights How Media and Entertainment Boost Tourism
at 3rd Annual UAE-India Economic Forum
Nashwa Al Ruwaini, the leading media and business personality discussed How Media and Entertainment Boost Tourism at the 3rd Annual UAE-India Economic Forum (UIEF) that was held at the Grand Habtoor Resort in Dubai on the 8th and 9th of November. Al Ruwaini who is currently CEO of Pyramedia Group, Media Consulting and Production Company, Al Joude Advanced Advertising and Publicity, Al Joude Financial Investments and Delma Medical Center and Spa and Founder of the Nashwa Charity Foundation highlighted in depth that there can be a direct correlation between the power of media and entertainment and its effect on tourism. Citing various examples from media and entertainment campaigns from all across the globe as well as in the UAE and India, Al Ruwaini revealed that tourism can increase due to movies, advertising campaigns, music videos and digital media.
On the occasion of her participation at the UIEF she said, “It was an absolute honour to be able to take part in this significant event and to engage with leading dignitaries and personalities from the UAE and India and to establish a pro-active dialogue to enhance ties between the two countries. As a UAE National it gives me immense pride to be able to represent my country at this important forum and share my knowledge from years spent in the media field and to interact with the audience about dynamic topics.”
She added that research showed that both the UAE and India are countries that have had their tourism boosted due to the strong presence of media and entertainment initiatives that include Hollywood and Bollywood productions that have been filmed in both locations.
Nashwa Al Ruwaini has extensive experience in the media field having begun her career as a TV presenter where she moderated extremely popular shows in Egypt and the UAE for which she won several awards. Following this she set up Pyramedia Media Production and Consulting Company that pioneered in the UAE shows such as The Millions Poet, The Prince of Poets, The Buzzer and produced Sabah Il Dar on Abu Dhabi TV. Presently she is also a consultant for Abu Dhabi Media Company and has consulted for Hollywood productions and Disney.
